CEEZER Advances Carbon Market Transparency with Real-Time Data

CEEZER, the Berlin-based carbon credit platform, is transforming the voluntary carbon market (VCM) with a real-time monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) system. Developed in collaboration with four technology partners, this innovative feature addresses longstanding transparency challenges in the VCM.

Reliable data is essential for effective environmental investments, yet gaps in transparency have hindered progress in the sector. CEEZER’s MRV system provides project-specific insights, ranging from nature restoration efforts to cutting-edge carbon removal technologies, empowering stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Dr. Carla Woydt, CEEZER’s Chief Impact Officer, underscored the significance of this breakthrough, noting how it helps balance information disparities between buyers and suppliers, enabling investments rooted in trustworthy metrics.

Building on its partnership with Carbonfuture, a leader in carbon removal transparency, CEEZER has now joined forces with three additional MRV providers to expand its capabilities:

  • Cula delivers real-time insights into project activities using advanced machine data.
  • Mangrove Systems specialises in measuring innovative carbon removal solutions, including biomass and direct air capture methods.
  • Kanop applies satellite imagery and machine learning to offer precise data for conserving and restoring natural ecosystems.

This robust integration not only supports buyers in verifying project impacts with greater accuracy but also enables suppliers to demonstrate their value with transparent, data-backed metrics.

Magnus Drewelies, CEEZER’s CEO, described the MRV system as a critical advancement toward building the trust and accountability needed to drive impactful nature-based action. With over 13.5 million data points underpinning its operations, CEEZER continues to lead the charge in creating a transparent and reliable carbon market.
