Meta Launches 2025 Call for Emissions-Reduction Partnerships

Meta is ramping up its efforts to slash greenhouse gas emissions across its global operations. The tech giant—parent company to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp—has announced the launch of its 2025 Request for Proposals (RfP), targeting carbon reduction initiatives that can help it achieve net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2030.

This marks the third consecutive year Meta has issued such a call, reinforcing its focus on tackling Scope 3 emissions—those generated indirectly by suppliers and external partners. The company is now seeking scalable solutions in several high-emission sectors, including:

  • Manufacturing of semiconductors, chemicals, cement, concrete, copper, iron, and steel
  • Transportation by truck, air, and sea
  • Heating for commercial buildings
  • Aluminium production and processing
  • Mining operations for copper and iron ore
  • Containment of fluorinated gas leaks in commercial settings

These industries are among the toughest to decarbonise, making them key targets in Meta’s strategy to clean up its broader supply chain.

Companies interested in submitting a proposal must first complete an intake form and sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Meta. The deadline for executing this NDA and receiving the full RfP is 12:00 PM Pacific Time on 18 July 2025. Proposals must be submitted by 12:00 PM PT on 19 September 2025.

Meta plans to notify selected partners—as well as those who do not meet its due diligence criteria—by November. Chosen projects will be invited to move forward for potential collaboration.

As corporate leaders step up their nature-forward commitments, Meta’s open call creates new opportunities for businesses offering credible, scalable emissions solutions. Whether in heavy industry, transport, or heating, the demand for impactful innovation is growing fast, and this could be a game-changer for those ready to act.
